academic staff union of polythecnics to begin nationwide strike by december 12

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has declared that it would begin an indefinite strike starting from December 12, 2018. The polytechnic lecturers will join their university colleagues who have been on strike since November 4th to press home their demands with the Federal Government. The National President of ASUP, Usman Dutse, in a chat with Premium Times said the federal government had failed to meet the demands of the polytechnic lecturers. Prior to this impending strike, the union had on October 2 issued a 21-day ultimatum to the government before it extended it to November. But even then, it did not commence the strike. Florida student, 20, arrested for allegedly threatening to kill his professor over an early morning exam

student at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida, was reportedly arrested last week after he allegedly took to social media and threatened to kill his professor for scheduling an early morning exam. Florida's WPLG-TV reported that FAU police traced the account to Rafael Decomas , 20, a student at the school, who made the threat but the tweet has since been deleted. It was revealed that Decomas allegedly admitted he was "upset" that his data structure professor scheduled the final for 7 a.m., and his commute from Riviera Beach meant he would have to wake up at 5 a.m. According to a Police report, Decomas stated that he did not intend to harm anyone and that the post was tweeted out of frustration. He also added that he deleted the post soon after publishing it. He was charged with sending a written threat to kill or do bodily injury.
