The Lagos state commissioner of police, Edgal Imohimi, has warned that anyone caught having sex inside a car in a public place in the state, stand the risk of being jailed for 2 years. The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has declared that it would begin an indefinite strike starting from December 12, 2018. The polytechnic lecturers will join their university colleagues who have been on strike since November 4th to press home their demands with the Federal Government. The National President of ASUP, Usman Dutse, in a chat with Premium Times said the federal government had failed to meet the demands of the polytechnic lecturers. Prior to this impending strike, the union had on October 2 issued a 21-day ultimatum to the government before it extended it to November. But even then, it did not commence the strike.    Mr Dutse said the proposed strike would be “ total and indefinite. This further emphasises the resolution of the 93rd National Executive Council meeting reached at the Yaba College of Technology, Lagos last week. Government has failed to implement and fulfil agreements it reached with the union as contained in the memorandum of unders

student at  Florida Atlantic University  in  Boca Raton, Florida,  was reportedly arrested last week after he allegedly took to social media and threatened to kill his professor for scheduling an early morning exam. Florida's WPLG-TV reported that FAU police traced the account to  Rafael Decomas , 20, a student at the school, who made the threat but the tweet has since been deleted.  It was revealed that Decomas allegedly admitted he was "upset" that his data structure professor scheduled the final for 7 a.m., and his commute from Riviera Beach meant he would have to wake up at 5 a.m. According to a Police report, Decomas stated that he did not intend to harm anyone and that the post was tweeted out of frustration. He also added that he deleted the post soon after publishing it. He was charged with sending a written threat to kill or do bodily injury.  Decomas  was later released on a $5,000 bond from Palm Beach County jail.

Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel expects the club to stick with manager Jose Mourinho. The Dane laments United have now become a sacking club. Four members of staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), a member of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) and a three-year-old girl at the weekend died in an accident on Ajaokuta–Lokoja Road, an official has confirmed. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) learnt in Lokoja, Kogi State capital yesterday that the corps member was performing his primary assignment with INEC office in Lokoja, while the child belonged to one of the INEC staff members. The victims were returning from Ayingba, Kogi, where they attended the wedding ceremony of another INEC worker, NAN learnt. The Director of Voter Education and Publicity at Kogi Office of INEC, Ahmed Biambo, confirmed the incident in a telephone interview with NAN. Biambo said the victims were from the Information and Communication Technology and Account departments of INEC. He said the corpses had been deposited at the morgue of the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja.
