MYSTERY OF BERMUDA TRIANGLE

Bermuda photo
One of life’s great mysteries, the Bermuda Triangle might have finally found an explanation. This strange region, that lies in the North Atlantic Ocean between Bermuda, Miami and San Juan, Puerto Rico, has been the presumed cause of dozens and dozens of mind-boggling disappearances of ships and planes.
The Bermuda Triangle lore includes such stories as that of Flight 19, a group of 5 U.S. torpedo bombers that vanished in the Triangle in 1945. A rescue plane sent to look for them also disappeared. Other stories include the mystery of USS Cyclops, resulting in the largest non-combat loss of life in U.S. Navy’s history. The ship with a crew of 309 went missing in 1918. Even as recently as 2015, El Faro, a cargo ship with 33 on board vanished in the area.
Altogether, as far as we know, 75 planes and hundreds of ships met their demise in the Bermuda Triangle. Possible causes for the catastrophes have been proposed over time, ranging from the paranormal, electromagnetic interference that causes compass problems, bad weather, the gulf stream, and large undersea fields of methane.A fascinating theory has been proposed by meteorologists claiming that the reason for the mysteries pervading the Bermuda Triangle area are unusual hexagonal clouds creating 170 mph air bombs full of wind. These air pockets cause all the mischief, sinking ships and downing planes.

The polytechnic lecturers will join their university colleagues who have been on strike since November 4th to press home their demands with the Federal Government. The National President of ASUP, Usman Dutse, in a chat with Premium Times said the federal government had failed to meet the demands of the polytechnic lecturers. Prior to this impending strike, the union had on October 2 issued a 21-day ultimatum to the government before it extended it to November. But even then, it did not commence the strike.    Mr Dutse said the proposed strike would be “ total and indefinite. This further emphasises the resolution of the 93rd National Executive Council meeting reached at the Yaba College of Technology, Lagos last week. Government has failed to implement and fulfil agreements it reached with the union as contained in the memora...

In this article, we would be using a Boeing 747 as reference and data (cost of aviation fuel) provided by IATA (International Air Transport Association). We would be calculating how much fuel would be consumed on a flight from Lagos (MMA) to London (Heathrow). First, let’s get some parameters right Distance between the two airports :- Approx. 5,006 Km Time taken for the journey :- 6 hours 35 mins , which is equal to 395 mins Cost of aviation fuel :- According to IATA, it costs 211.23 cts/gal cts/gal is a term used in aviation,it means cents per gallon. Lets convert this figure to ₦/litre Lets use 360 per $ One dollar is 100 cents 211.23 cents = 2.11 dollars To Naira = ₦759.6 This figure is per gallon 1 Gallon is approx. 3.79 litres That means its costs ₦759.6 per 3.79 litres That gives us ₦200.42 per litre ...
