Ekiti treasurer shot dead at sunset

•Party mourns The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has been thrown into mourning, following the killing of the Treasurer, Mr. Moses Adeoye, on Wednesday night. He was reportedly shot dead in his home in Otun-Ekiti, the headquarters of Moba Local Government, when having supper. The gunmen were said to have invaded Adeoye’s home about 9pm and shot the victim. He was killed a few hours after returning to Otun-Ekiti after being part of the town hall meetings held by Governor Kayode Fayemi in Ekiti North and Ekiti South senatorial districts. Adeoye was the APC chairman in his local government before he became the treasurer at the state congress in September. Police spokesman Caleb Ikechukwu said the command had begun investigation. He said the suspects would soon be nabbed. The state chapter of the APC has expressed shock at the killing of a member of the State Working Committee (SWC). The Publicity Secretary, Mr. Ade Ajayi, said the exco h...

Defection: Hon. Ituen Defects From PDP To APC.

The Federal High court sitting in Uyo has declared vacant the seat of Hon Ituen, who decamped from PDP to APC. The court interpreted the relevant section of the constitution and stated that there is no division in the PDP to warrant the lawmaker to defect to the APC. Good and sound judgment. This nonsense must stop. As written by  I srael Lite Nwachukwu  To whom it may concern.

Fayose explains how he got the 4.685billion from obanikoro

•Ex-governor asks for mattress Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose is telling the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) detectives all he knows about the N4.685 billion allegedly withdrawn from the Office of National Security Adviser (ONSA). Fayose spoke yesterday after 72 hours in detention. He admitted knowing a former Minister of State (Defence) Mr. Musiliu Obanikoro, who ferried N1.299billion slush funds to him in a chartered jet. He also said he has links with Abiodun Agbele, who allegedly bought six choice properties for him in Lagos and Abuja. But the ex-governor added  drama to his grilling when he wrote the EFCC to demand an additional mattress in his cell. He said sleeping on two mattresses will be more comfortable for him. The EFCC was looking into his request as at the time of filing this report. The governor, who had vowed not to speak, made a U-Turn,  The Nation  learnt. Agbele and Obanikoro are central to the disbursement and r...
