Driver’s Licence: FRSC states what applicants must do

The Ogun Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, on Monday advised applicants to go to appropriate centres to obtain the driver’s licence.
Mr Clement Oladele, the Ogun Sector Commander of FRSC, gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, in Ota, Ogun.
Oladele urged the public to desist from allowing their spouses or someone else process the driver’s licence on their behalf.
He said that this practice has contributed to the delay in collecting most driver’s licences.
Oladele noted that some applicants did not give correct information like their phone numbers.
“We sent bulk information to applicants when their licences are ready but in a situation where they give wrong phone numbers, the text messages will not get to them,‘’ he said.
Oladele advised applicants to always contact the nearest centre for any change of information in order not to delay the collection of licence.
He, however, urged applicants to desist from patronising touts, saying it was one of the major challenges confronting the exercise.

Fg reacts to nnamdi kanu's speech "Am Coming Back With Hell"

The Nigerian government has reacted to the outburst of the leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu that his return to Nigeria would be disastrous as he is coming back to Nigeria and this time he is coming with hell. Reacting, however, presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, in a statement on Tuesday asked Nigerians to ignore Kanu as his threat to bring hell to Nigeria was impractical. He said, "The Presidency wishes to restate that Nigeria under President Muhammadu Buhari is strong enough to defend its territory against any threat, assuring all Nigerians that there is no reason to worry about the hollow outburst by Nnamdi Kanu, the disputed leader of IPOB on returning to the country 'with hell'. "Instead, we see the re-enactment of his bizarre, episodic threat as a mere distraction which will not be allowed to detract from the existing cordial relationships between Nigeria and other countries. "The Buhari administration is in consta...

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has declared that it would begin an indefinite strike starting from December 12, 2018. The polytechnic lecturers will join their university colleagues who have been on strike since November 4th to press home their demands with the Federal Government. The National President of ASUP, Usman Dutse, in a chat with Premium Times said the federal government had failed to meet the demands of the polytechnic lecturers. Prior to this impending strike, the union had on October 2 issued a 21-day ultimatum to the government before it extended it to November. But even then, it did not commence the strike.    Mr Dutse said the proposed strike would be “ total and indefinite. This further emphasises the resolution of the 93rd National Executive Council meeting reached at the Yaba College of Technology, Lagos last week. Government has failed to implement and fulfil agreements it reached with the union as contained in the memora...
