academic staff union of polythecnics to begin nationwide strike by december 12

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has declared that it would begin an indefinite strike starting from December 12, 2018. The polytechnic lecturers will join their university colleagues who have been on strike since November 4th to press home their demands with the Federal Government. The National President of ASUP, Usman Dutse, in a chat with Premium Times said the federal government had failed to meet the demands of the polytechnic lecturers. Prior to this impending strike, the union had on October 2 issued a 21-day ultimatum to the government before it extended it to November. But even then, it did not commence the strike.    Mr Dutse said the proposed strike would be “ total and indefinite. WHAT NDI IGBO WANT IN NIGERIA-THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE UNENDING IPOB AGITATION

ATIKU-OBI , HAS THEIR WORKS CUT OUT . THEY SHOULD CALL MNK, IPOB AND OHANEZE AND OTHER INTERESTED STAKEHOLDERS FOR A MINI CONFERENCE AND OFFER TO PURSUE THE RESTRUCTURING OF NIGERIA . ITS EITHER RESTRUCTURING OR BIAFRA. NO MIDDLE GROUND. This is expected , because people that enjoy deliberately created advantages over their competition will always want it to remain so and will hardly give it up unless pressed to the wall . However, I get deeply perplexed, any time I rea...

dad was fatally shot in front of terrified school children while waiting to pick his son up from school Jim Donegan, who is in his 40s, was sitting in his car at 3 pm yesterday, waiting for his son, when he was shot dead at point-blank range in Belfast. He was shot as many as five times in what was branded a "gangland-style execution". Police are searching for a man in his 40s and wearing a high vis security vest. A security source said: It was an execution in broad daylight. A man shot while waiting in his car - that is for all intents and purposes a gangland-style execution. It was up close, personal and point blank. You have to ask, was the shooter wearing that vest to blend into his surroundings? It’s been planned and thought through. The normal dissident shooting would be a hit-and-run. And would any dissident Republican groups risk an own goal, not just outside a school but also at kicking out time? It’s not their style. This...
